Some senior executives at The Walt Disney Company have discussed the possibility of a full acquisition of Epic Games.
Alex Heath, co-host of the podcast Access, said in a recent episode of The Town that he is “aware of executives within Disney who want the company to buy Epic and are simply waiting for the right moment.” Despite enthusiasm from part of the leadership, other representatives reportedly view the idea as a poor strategic move.
Disney already holds a significant stake in Epic Games valued at $1.5 billion and is collaborating on the creation of a large-scale “Disney universe” within Fortnite.
It is worth noting that ARC Raiders recently received a major Flashpoint update featuring a hardcore operation and new enemies.
