The opening ceremony of gamescom 2026, the largest gaming event in Europe, will take place tonight. Throughout the week, players can expect numerous announcements, trailers, interviews, and updates on a wide range of upcoming and already released games.
As usual, gamescom will also host the Gamescom Award ceremony, which recognizes some of the most notable projects across several categories. Organizers have now revealed the full list of nominees. Voting will take place on August 26 and 27, with professional juries, critics, journalists, and players, including online voters, taking part.
The Ukrainian shooter Metro 2039 from 4A Games leads this year’s nominations. The game is competing in five categories, including “Most Epic Game.”
Alien: Isolation 2 and the chaotic arcade title Denshattack! follow with four nominations each. Forza Horizon 6 and the atmospheric adventure OPUS: Prism Peak are also among the games competing for multiple awards.
