Minecraft Dungeons 2 coming in Fall 2026 — first details of the massive sequel

During Minecraft Live 2026, Mojang officially announced Minecraft Dungeons 2. The game is scheduled to release in October–November 2026.

The project is expected to be a true next-gen leap for the franchise. In addition to the usual Xbox and PC platforms, the sequel will also launch on PlayStation 5 and is planned to be one of the key releases for Nintendo Switch 2.

The game is once again being developed by Mojang in collaboration with Double Eleven. According to the developers, this time the team did not treat the project as an expansion-style follow-up, but instead built the game from scratch using an updated technology stack.

The world of the game will expand far beyond the classic locations. Players will explore new regions of the Minecraft universe that have never appeared in any game of the series before. The character progression system will also become much more flexible, allowing players to create unique builds thanks to new types of artifacts and new enchantment combinations.

As a reminder, NIP and MOUZ have been eliminated from BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026.
