During the Xbox Showcase presentation, Minecraft Dungeons 2 received a new gameplay showcase, with developers officially confirming the game's release date. The highly anticipated sequel will launch on September 29, 2026.
The game will also be available through Xbox Game Pass on day one.
Earlier Leak Confirmed
The September release window had previously been revealed through an accidental early publication of the game's store page on the Nintendo eShop. Earlier leaks also disclosed additional details, including the game's expected price of $29.99 USD and an estimated download size of approximately 6.8 GB.
Focus on Cooperative Gameplay
Like its predecessor, Minecraft Dungeons 2 will feature both local and online co-op modes for up to four players. The newly released trailer places a strong emphasis on cooperative adventures, showcasing groups of players battling enemies, exploring dungeons, and combining abilities to overcome challenges.
The sequel appears to expand upon the formula of the original game while retaining its accessible action-RPG gameplay set within the Minecraft universe.
As previously reported, 4A Games recently unveiled the first gameplay trailer for Metro 2039 and confirmed a winter 2027 release window.
