Minecraft Receives Major Chaos Cubed Update

Mojang Studios is releasing the second major update of the year for Minecraft, titled Chaos Cubed.

The headline feature of the update is a new underground biome called Sulfur Cave. One of its key characteristics is the presence of surface-level indicators that make the biome easier to locate. Sulfur springs and geysers will appear directly above the cave system, guiding players toward its entrance.

Inside the biome, players will discover sulfur blocks, sulfur spikes, and a new music disc titled “Bounce,” which can be found in loot chests within local mineshafts.

The caves are also home to a new passive mob known as the Sulfur Cube. Players will be able to experiment with its mechanics by feeding it different types of blocks, triggering a variety of unique effects.

More Than 30 New Blocks

The update introduces over 30 new blocks to the game. The materials Cinnabar and Sulfur now feature complete building sets, including:

Another notable addition is Potent Sulfur, a standalone block with its own unique interaction mechanics.

With a new biome, a new mob, dozens of building blocks, and additional collectibles, Chaos Cubed represents one of the largest Minecraft content updates released this year.

As previously reported, SEGA unveiled a life-size figure of Sonic the Hedgehog containing synthetic DNA to celebrate the franchise’s 35th anniversary.
