MINOS launches next week with a fresh take on the Minotaur’s daily struggles

Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Artificer have announced the release date for MINOS, an upcoming title that blends strategy, puzzle, and roguelite elements. The concept is reminiscent of the classic Dungeon Keeper by Peter Molyneux, but reimagined within a setting inspired by ancient Greek mythology.

The game puts players in control of the legendary Minotaur, who is frustrated by constant invasions of adventurers seeking to slay him and earn glory. In response, he begins fortifying his lair with cunning traps, intricate labyrinths, and various deadly obstacles.

The game has a roguelite structure, so each playthrough is different. Both the layout of the lair and the placement of traps, as well as the composition of enemy squads, change with each run. The core gameplay revolves around chaining traps in sequence, for example, a warrior steps on a pressure plate, then boulders fall, spikes emerge from the walls, and finally the floor is covered in lava. If executed correctly, the player earns bonus points.

The developers also promise an engaging story that explores the Minotaur’s origins and reveals how his encounter with Theseus will unfold once the hero reaches the beast.

MINOS is set to release next week on April 9, exclusively on Steam.
