Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Update: Buffs for Obsidian and Hayabusa, Meta Build Changes for Hanzo

On August 25, 2026, MOONTON Games released a new patch for the main server of the mobile MOBA Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. The main focus of the update was the rework of Obsidian's ultimate ability, buffs to Hayabusa's basic skills, and a significant limitation on the effectiveness of tank builds for Hanzo. All adjustments are based on the analysis of recent ranked and professional matches.

The developers have reviewed Hayabusa's power distribution to make his gameplay better fit his ninja image and reward players for high-level execution. The base damage and scaling of his first ability have been increased, and his second skill has become more convenient to use due to an expanded phantom hitbox (from 0.8 to 1) and faster crosshair movement. To balance these buffs, the hero's ultimate ability was nerfed: its base damage and the bonus damage from Shadow Mark have been reduced.

For Hanzo, the developers changed his survival mechanics, which previously made semi-tank builds too effective. From now on, the health regeneration from his first ability (when attacking epic monsters or heroes) and upon returning to his body from the ultimate scales with physical attack stats rather than a percentage of health. Additionally, the bonus damage from his passive ability relies more heavily on physical attack. This update directly encourages players to build the hero exclusively for damage output.

Obsidian received a series of buffs to improve her effectiveness in the early and mid-game. Her base attack speed growth was increased from 1% to 1.5%, and her passive ability now allows her to accumulate energy (2 units) even when attacking enemy turrets. The effect of her ultimate has changed drastically: the developers removed the 30% attack speed bonus, replacing it with shield generation when dealing damage to enemy heroes. The shield's strength depends on the number of collected shards, significantly increasing the marksman's survivability in combat.

Meanwhile, Atlas received a nerf to his mobility. The developers noticed that the hero was moving around the map too quickly, so they reduced the movement speed bonus from his second ability from 40% to 30% and increased its overall cooldown by one second. This should reduce the frequency of his aggressive initiations and chases.

Balance changes also affected the Storm Belt item. Since some assassins were gaining an excessive advantage from it in combat, the developers expanded the item's restrictions. From now on, the 50% effectiveness reduction of the belt applies not only to marksmen and mages but also to the assassin class.
