Modern Warfare 4 May Launch in Fall 2026

Insider CharlieIntel reports that the next entry in the series, developed by Infinity Ward, could arrive in October 2026, although no exact date has been confirmed yet. Rumors suggest the campaign will take place across North and South Korea, with players controlling three factions trying to prevent a global war.

The game is also expected to appear at Xbox Games Showcase 2026 on June 7. At the same time, reports indicate it may not be available on Game Pass at launch.

According to sources, the project is being developed under the codename “Modern Warfare 사”, using the Korean numeral for four. There are also claims about the return of the DMZ extraction mode.

Insiders say the release could fall on one of the Fridays in October to maintain the franchise tradition. Additionally, Infinity Ward is reportedly overhauling its engine to support a next generation leap, with development said to be happening on dev kits for the next Xbox console.

As for Game Pass, the situation remains unclear. Despite previous entries launching on the service day one, the company may reconsider this approach due to potential revenue losses.
