Monte head coach Oleksandr kakafu Szymanczyk revealed that he received a warning from the tournament organizer following his team's first day at IEM Cologne Major 2026 Stage 2 in CS2.
According to kakafu, Valve's Major rulebook restricts coaches from displaying excessive emotions during matches, forcing tournament organizers to enforce the regulation strictly.
“ESL gave me a final warning not to show any emotions. Valve requires TOs to strictly enforce this rule at Majors. If that's the case, then I prefer the Valorant system, where the coach is in a separate room with a PC.”
Monte had a solid opening day in Stage 2. The team first defeated BIG 13-8 on Mirage before narrowly falling to G2 Esports 19-22 on the same map in one of the closest matches of the round.
Today, June 7, Monte will continue their campaign in the 1-1 bracket against Legacy.
The IEM Cologne Major 2026 is taking place from June 2 to June 21 in Cologne, Germany, with a total prize pool of $1.25 million.
As previously reported, the story expansion Man of Honor for Mafia: The Old Country has been officially announced.
