Player of The Mongolz, Ayush mzinho Batbold, gave an interview to Players correspondent Alex Kharchenko after his team’s victory over paiN and their advancement to the grand final of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025.
First of all, congrats. What are you feeling right now? You won the YALLA Compass, but it's the first big, big final for you.
It's a very special final for me. It's a major final. It means a lot. I think no one can do this usually. Yeah, we made it. I'm so happy.
Is it a dream come true for The Mongolz?
Yeah, it's a dream come true. I was just a kid watching Counter-Strike. Like Katowice, Cologne tournaments. I was just watching it from the TV or computer. Now I'm playing on the stage and I'm going to the finals. Yeah, it feels good.
You said that you watched a lot of Counter-Strike. What was your hero, basically the best player for you?
In the beginning, I liked Guardian. The crazy Guardian. He's different. I love Guardian and Coldzera.
What about s1mple?
In the beginning I liked Guardian and Coldzera and they have been retired since 2021. s1mple was just destroying everyone. Yeah, he was too on the list of my heroes and it's nice to watch him.
You will be playing more against Vitality. That's a tough opponent for you. Will you pick Inferno?
That's a good question. They got swept by MOUZ. I think we can, but maybe after this we go to the practice room, we'll talk about it. Right now it's unknown.
Taking into account the experience of Vitality, what will be the core elements that will help you to win the finals? Like the crowd, maybe the additional practice?
Additional practice. The crowd will help us a lot, I think, if we play against Vitality. If we keep playing, do our practices, everything will be under control, as we usually do. Maybe if we keep doing that, we can win. Last time we almost won against Vitality.
