Naughty Dog may be bringing Uncharted back with a new game

According to MP1st, Naughty Dog is in the early stages of developing a new Uncharted game. The project is reportedly a completely new entry rather than a remake of one of the existing titles.

The game is said to be directed by Shaun Escayg, who previously directed Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Insider NateTheHate also corroborated the report, stating that Escayg is indeed working on a new Uncharted project.

Nathan Drake is also promised to appear in the game, but it is currently unknown whether he will be the main character, a supporting character, or simply make a cameo.

Escayg previously left Naughty Dog to become creative director of Marvel's Avengers at Crystal Dynamics, but later returned to the studio to work on an unnamed project. That project now appears to be the new Uncharted game.

If the new title continues the story of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, one possible direction could see Cassie, the daughter of Nathan Drake and Elena Fisher, take the lead after being introduced at the end of the fourth game.

Naughty Dog is reportedly planning to move on to Uncharted after finishing Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The game currently has no release date, while the studio plans to properly reveal it in 2027.

The last new entry in the series was Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, released in 2017.
