ESL Pro League Season 23 is still ongoing — one of the longest tournaments has not finished yet. So far, only the first matches of the group stage have been played, but they are no less important, as this stage determines which teams will advance to the playoffs.
NaVi and Monte faced each other today in a kind of Ukrainian “El Clásico.” NaVi had already lost to Monte earlier this year, but this time they managed to take revenge after a hard-fought match. There is not much for the yellow-and-blacks to boast about yet, but they start the tournament in the 1–0 pool, while Monte drop to 0–1.
FUT Esports, meanwhile, played against Astralis. In fact, these teams have faced each other several times already. The most interesting part is that their previous match was for a spot in the Stage 1 playoffs, and in the very first match of Stage 2 they immediately met again. Unfortunately, FUT Esports were unable to show their best game and lost 0–2, dropping to the 0–1 pool.
B8 pleasantly surprised everyone today — they sensationally defeated FURIA. The Brazilian club was considered the clear favorite, but despite their solid performance, the Ukrainian organization turned out to be stronger.
All results:
- Astralis 2:0 FUT Esports
- NaVi 2:1 Monte
- Spirit 2:0 3DMAX
- G2 2:0 FaZe
- Aurora 2:1 Legacy
- The Mongolz 2:0 Pain
- MOUZ 2:1 Heroic
- B8 2:1 FURIA
