Netflix has officially confirmed the development of a third season of the animated series Devil May Cry. The announcement came shortly after the release of the second season.
The upcoming installment will serve as the conclusion of the story, although an exact premiere date has not yet been revealed. Showrunner Adi Shankar explained the series’ conceptual framework, noting that it is inspired by The Divine Comedy, but “with guns and a red coat.” According to Shankar, all three seasons form a single narrative arc titled “The Force Edge Saga,” which was envisioned from the beginning as a film trilogy disguised as a television series.
The trilogy is structured as follows:
- Season 1 — “Inferno”
- Season 2 — “Purgatorio”
- Season 3 — “Paradiso”
Together, these three chapters are intended to complete the overarching story of the saga.
