New information has surfaced about Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe, Ubisoft’s next mainline entry in the series. The game will take players to Central Europe in the 16th century, with witch hunts expected to be one of its major themes.
According to MP1st, the protagonist will be a young woman named Petra. On the surface, she appears to be an obedient daughter, but her views directly conflict with the expectations of the society around her. Other characters reportedly include her presumed parents Brigitte and Konrad, her mentor Wolfgang, as well as Bruno, Anton, Johanna, Theo, and Erika.
A key character could be Mother Gertrud, a 65-year-old former village healer who lost the trust of her community after failing to cure an illness. She also taught Brigitte how to use medicinal herbs and is now helping hide her daughter from an organization known as the Order of the Lamb.
The game may also feature a modern-day storyline. One of its characters is reportedly Anna, a determined and ambitious careerist who constantly pushes herself to the limit.
Augsburg will reportedly be one of the locations featured in the game. However, some of the information is based on a 2023 build, meaning Ubisoft may have changed certain characters and story elements during development.
Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe is not expected to launch before the second half of 2027. The game is also reportedly coming to Nintendo Switch 2 alongside PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, although the Switch 2 version could arrive later.
