It appears that Valve is preparing to launch the Steam Controller. Users have noticed that the company uploaded a video titled “Steam Controller unboxing”, although it cannot be viewed yet as it remains private.
The clip was discovered through SteamDB. When attempting to play it, a message states that the video has not been processed for streaming.
According to insider Brad Lynch, this could indicate that the device’s release is imminent. He previously pointed to Valve’s import records, which mention a “wireless PC controller”. Taken together, these clues suggest the launch may happen in the near future.
While pricing for both the controller and the Steam Machine has not been announced, there is speculation that details about the controller’s price could arrive soon.
The video also supports the idea that Valve may release the Steam Controller separately from the Steam Machine. There are currently no clear signs of an imminent launch for the system itself, partly due to ongoing challenges in the PC hardware market.
A standalone release of the controller would likely be good news for PC gamers, even if it arrives months ahead of the platform it was originally designed for.
As a Reminder, Microsoft lowers Xbox Game Pass prices but removes day-one Call of Duty releases.
