Nintendo has introduced a new initiative — the Senior Bowling Tournament 2026. This is the first large-scale tournament designed specifically for players aged 60 and older. The event will feature 16 teams representing local governments, charitable organizations, and senior clubs from across Japan.
The competition is based on the game Nintendo Switch Sports, specifically its Bowling mode, which uses motion recognition technology to simulate a real-life sporting experience.
In some regions, the initiative is directly tied to health and wellness programs, using gaming as a way to help older adults stay active and socially connected.
The tournament is scheduled to take place across multiple dates through mid-2026, with matches held online.
As a reminder, Marvel Rivals has received the Lower Manhattan update.
