Nintendo Assisting Rockstar With Possible GTA VI Switch 2 Port

Rumors about a possible Nintendo Switch 2 version of Grand Theft Auto VI have resurfaced online. While many analysts have questioned whether Rockstar’s massive project could run on Nintendo’s hybrid console, new reports suggest that work on such a port may actually be underway.

Insider Nash Weedle claims that Rockstar has managed to overcome the technical limitations of Switch 2 and achieved a solid level of performance for GTA VI on the system. However, according to him, the game will not be released on the console this year.

Another insider, Shpeshal_Nick, who has a stronger track record, also commented on the situation. He said he has not heard that Rockstar has successfully launched GTA VI on Switch 2, but confirmed that the studio is interested in bringing the game to the platform. According to him, Nintendo specialists are providing Rockstar with the necessary technical support, as the partnership would be highly beneficial for both companies.

The possibility of a Switch 2 version is also supported by the fact that GTA VI will launch on Xbox Series S, a console with performance capabilities comparable to Nintendo’s new hardware. Developers have previously noted that optimizing games for Xbox Series S often helped them create better versions for Switch 2, and Rockstar could potentially follow the same approach.
