Company Nintendo has presented the final trailer for the upcoming animated film The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which is a sequel to the 2023 adaptation. The trailer was shown during Nintendo Direct.
The head of Illumination, Chris Meledandri, introduced new cast members:
- Donald Glover (also known as Childish Gambino and star of the TV series Atlanta) will voice the fan-favorite dinosaur Yoshi.
- Issa Rae (creator of Insecure and star of the movie Barbie) will voice Honey Queen, the ruler of the Honeycomb Galaxy.
- Luis Guzmán (Wednesday, Narcos) will voice the classic villain Wart, who first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 2.
It was previously confirmed that Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) will voice Rosalina, while Benny Safdie (Oppenheimer) will voice Bowser Jr.
The main stars of the first film return to their roles:
- Chris Pratt (Mario),
- Anya Taylor-Joy (Peach),
- Charlie Day (Luigi),
- Jack Black (Bowser),
- and Keegan-Michael Key (Toad).
The worldwide theatrical premiere of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is scheduled for April 1, 2026.
