Nintendo has released a new trailer for the animated feature The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which serves as a direct sequel to the hugely successful The Super Mario Bros. Movie released in 2023. The previous film earned hundreds of millions of dollars at the global box office and received very positive audience reactions.
The new footage focuses on the film’s story setup. Mario and his brother Luigi arrive in a desert region in search of a «terrible monster», but instead discover the adorable dinosaur Yoshi hiding inside a cave, a character instantly recognisable to every Mario fan.
Based on the scenes shown, Yoshi is set to become one of the central characters of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and will likely deliver plenty of fun and heartwarming moments. The trailer also revealed an important update regarding the release date. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is set to premiere on April 3 later this year.
