No Man’s Sky Receives Major Free Remnant Update

Hello Games has released the first major update of 2026 for No Man’s Sky. Update 6.2 titled Remnant is now available across all platforms.

Once one of the most anticipated games of its time, No Man’s Sky faced heavy criticism at launch due to overambitious promises. The game lacked key advertised features including proper online multiplayer, deep ship customization, clans, and it suffered from numerous technical issues. Over the years, however, the studio turned things around with a steady stream of free updates that not only fulfilled earlier promises but significantly expanded the experience.

Remnant marks the first big update in the year of the game’s tenth anniversary. One of its headline features is the Gravitino Coil, a gravity based weapon inspired by the iconic tool from Half Life 2.

«Seize and fling a variety of items with the Gravitino Coil, creating your own physics playground», «Toss the golden artefacts found at planetary ruins, construct a Sphere Creator in your base and toy with its output, or grab and consume the combat supplies dropped by Sentinel drones», — reads the official website.

The update also introduces a wide range of customization options for vehicles and planetary structures, new mining tools for gathering valuable materials, and a waste management system that allows players to clean up planetary debris and recycle it into useful resources at Waste Processing Plants.

In addition, players can take part in a new community expedition focused on restoring ruined planets and making them safe to inhabit. Rare rewards await those who participate, though the expedition can also be completed solo.

The update will automatically download the next time you launch the game if it has not already been installed in sleep mode.

No Man’s Sky is available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

As a reminder, Red Dead Redemption 2 Enhanced Edition Is Still Planned for This Year.
