NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Graphics Cards Could Become $500 More Expensive in China: RTX 5080 Prices May Rise by $420

Manufacturers of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 graphics cards are preparing another price increase in China. According to Chinese industry publication Board Channels, Colorful has already introduced new prices for distributors in November, while GALAX may take a similar step in the near future.

The largest price increases are expected for higher-end models. In particular, the price of the RTX 5090 D V2 could rise by 2,200–3,300 yuan, equivalent to approximately $330–495. The RTX 5080 could become 2,500–2,800 yuan more expensive, or around $375–420, depending on the model.

How Much Could RTX 50 Prices Increase?

According to the published information, the changes will affect virtually the entire current GeForce RTX 50 lineup. In addition to flagship models, price increases are also expected in the mid-range segment.

Estimated Colorful price increases in China:

Separately, GALAX is reportedly planning to revise prices for the RTX 5060 and higher-end models. According to preliminary information, the minimum increase could be 200 yuan (approximately $30), with larger increases expected for more expensive cards.

However, these figures refer to manufacturers' prices or supply costs for distributors, rather than final retail prices. The actual price increases for consumers will therefore depend on retailers' decisions and conditions in local markets.

This Is Not the First Price Increase

The latest changes continue a trend that has been observed in the Chinese market over the past few months. On October 23, reports emerged that ASUS and Gigabyte had increased their factory prices for the RTX 5080. At the time, ASUS had reportedly raised prices by 1,000 yuan (around $150), while Gigabyte had increased them by 1,200 yuan (approximately $180).

According to VideoCardz, wholesale prices for the RTX 5080 in China had already reached approximately $2,170–2,240 by that point. The latest increase could put additional pressure on the cost of this model.

Importantly, NVIDIA has not announced any changes to the recommended retail prices of the GeForce RTX 50 lineup. There is also no confirmation that the Chinese price adjustments will be applied in other countries on the same scale.

As a result, the Chinese market could face another round of NVIDIA graphics card price increases in the near future, with the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 D V2 expected to be affected the most. Whether these changes will influence prices in other regions remains unknown.
