Official: Konami Reveals Details of the Massive eFootball v6.0.0 Update

In its latest eFootball Connect video, Konami announced the details of the upcoming v6.0.0 update. The new season will bring a number of gameplay innovations, fresh campaigns, and expanded content to the game. The official release of the update is scheduled for August 13, 2026, with extensive server maintenance starting a day earlier on August 12.

An important addition, especially for the esports community, will be the introduction of the "Custom Tournament" mode. It allows players to create their own tournaments with a capacity of up to seven participants. The tournament host will be able to both participate directly in the matches and spectate other players' games in real time.

The developers have also significantly revamped the formation system. Tactical setups have now become more flexible and will automatically adapt depending on whether the team is attacking or defending. This system is complemented by updated player Playstyles, which can now differ for the attacking and defensive phases. Managers will receive two Link-up Playstyles, further highlighting their uniqueness and expanding the players' tactical arsenal. Additionally, it is worth noting the collaboration with PlatinumGames Inc.—the result of this partnership is the updated "Daily Game" feature, allowing players to launch daily minigames with a single click.

The main gameplay feature of the update is the "Dynamic Volley" function. Thanks to the "Stunning Shot" command, players have gained new opportunities for spectacular volleys on a floating ball.

The overall attacking finishing mechanics have also been improved: while previously players often tried to head the ball after lofted passes in awkward situations, they will now more frequently execute more natural volley shots. Additionally, the game has been enriched with a large number of new animations relating to player movements, shots, goalkeeper saves, dribbling, and ball control techniques.

Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal remain the faces of the new eFootball season. Players will have access to special Ambassador Packs featuring them, which will include Epic items, kits, tifos, and giant props.

The pool of partner clubs includes the world's leading teams: FC Barcelona, Arsenal, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Besiktas, Trabzonspor, Flamengo, Palmeiras, Sao Paulo, Corinthians, and Santos.
