Overwatch is turning 10 years old. To celebrate the anniversary, Blizzard Entertainment has announced a large-scale in-game event called Overwatch 10th Anniversary, promising players a huge amount of cosmetic content and a nostalgic return to the game’s origins.
The anniversary event begins on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, alongside the release of the Season 2 mid-season update. The celebration will last for three weeks and conclude on Tuesday, June 1, 2026.
This year’s event is focused on honoring the game’s history. Players will be able to unlock content inspired by the original 2016 launch version of the game. This includes classic skins for all launch heroes, including Tracer, Mercy, and Winston.
Blizzard Entertainment will also release several community-designed skins created by winners of a special fan contest.
During the event, the classic reward system will return as well. Players will once again be able to earn Loot Boxes weekly by completing special in-game challenges.
