Developer Pearl Abyss has released update 1.06.00 for Crimson Desert across all platforms. The patch introduces a long-awaited extraction system that allows players to recover materials used for equipment refinement and enhancement.
According to the patch notes, rare materials such as Artifacts and Aeserion’s Scale can now be recovered at 100% of the amount used, while common resources like iron ore, copper ore, and bloodstones return at around 70%. The feature is expected to make endgame equipment progression much faster.
The update also adds a large variety of new tameable mounts. Players can now capture and summon animals including bears, boars, wolves, deer, mountain goats, iguanas, camels, lions, and tigers. Pearl Abyss explained that aggressive animals must first be subdued and fed before they can be tamed, while some species require unique taming methods.
One of the surprise additions is a claw machine mini-game located at the Laughing Marionette. Players can earn exclusive rewards from it, including lighting decorations, furniture, special headgear, Abyss Artifacts, and Abyss Gear.
Another notable feature is the new Sigil of Valor item, which allows pet dogs to attack enemies when equipped. The update also introduces Night Tone Mode, a visual option that softens overall colors and brightens shaded areas slightly.
Pearl Abyss continues to support Crimson Desert with near-weekly updates following launch. PR and marketing director Will Powers previously said the studio’s post-launch approach was inspired by the long-term live support of Black Desert.
