A new gameplay trailer for Haven Studios’ upcoming game Fairgames has surfaced online amidst the launch of new closed playtests. The testing is taking place on the Geoff Keighley-partnered platform player.gg. The service recently announced it was granting exclusive access to an unannounced competitive action shooter from a AAA studio, codenamed Project Espresso. Insider Gaming previously confirmed that this is the project name for the upcoming shooter from Haven Studios.
The project's development has faced certain challenges. As reported earlier this year, the studio has been struggling to "find the fun" in its game, and judging by early online comments, players are already criticizing it for a lack of innovation. Amidst this, PlayStation registered the trademark Break In, which is believed to be the new official title of the shooter.
According to footage obtained by Insider Gaming, the game is essentially a classic extraction shooter: players drop into a map, gather loot, and attempt to exfiltrate.
In-game match phases:
- Break In: Find a vault code to gain access to the safe, collect cash, upgrade your skill set, and make your play.
- Drill: Once the vault is breached, teams must grab the cargo or set up a strategy to intercept it.
- Extract: The cargo must be brought to the extraction site to call for transport. If a team fails to extract the cargo, they can use an alternative exit for a Getaway.
