Portuguese Football Federation Launches First Women’s EA FC 26 Esports League

The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), in partnership with financial institution BPI, has announced the creation of eLiga BPI. The new esports competition in EA FC 26 is designed exclusively for women.

The project aims to increase the visibility of female talent in the digital space while connecting traditional football with the esports ecosystem.

Participation in eLiga BPI is open to all clubs registered in women’s football tournaments under the FPF. According to the regulations, each club may field one player with Portuguese citizenship.

The first stage of the competition is scheduled for May 17, 2026. It will take place at the Cidade do Futebol sports complex in Oeiras. Following the May stage, the top four teams will advance to the “Final Four,” which will be held on June 4.

The decisive stage of the league will be integrated into the large-scale FPF eSPORTS Finals 2026 event at Arena Portugal. The event will serve as the culmination of the national esports season, with a total prize pool exceeding €50,000.

We also remind you that a film studio with a dedicated esports arena will be built in the United States.
