Indie publisher Devolver Digital has officially unveiled Reigns The Witcher in partnership with CD Projekt Red.
The game blends The Witcher universe with the familiar Reigns formula, where players face random events and encounters presented as cards and make decisions by swiping left or right, very much like using a dating app.
The reveal trailer showcases many well known characters from the franchise, including Yennefer, Triss, Vesemir, Dandelion, the Bloody Baron, Roach and even a cow named Maisy, whose appearance is particularly unexpected.
In this retelling, Geralt’s adventures are staged as theatrical plays narrated by Dandelion, who effectively holds the witcher’s fate in his hands. Players must decide whether to stick to the truth or embellish events while keeping Geralt’s notoriety in balance to prolong each run. Although most journeys are likely to end in Geralt’s death, every playthrough rewards players with new songbooks, allowing performances on increasingly grand stages in pursuit of narrative immortality.
Reigns The Witcher is being developed by Nerial, the studio behind the Reigns series, and is scheduled to launch on February 25 for PC via Steam, as well as on mobile through Google Play and the iPhone App Store.
The release arrives during a quieter period for CD Projekt’s flagship series. The studio has stated that The Witcher 4 is currently in "full production", but it is not expected before 2026. Beyond that, CD Projekt has outlined an ambitious six year roadmap that includes plans for The Witcher 5 and The Witcher 6. There are also persistent rumors of one last adventure for The Witcher 3, though nothing has been officially confirmed so far.
As a reminder, Terraria receives update 1.4.5
