Riot Games Unveils New Summit Map for VALORANT

During the grand final of VALORANT Masters London 2026, Riot Games revealed the Season 2026 // Act 4 update. Players can look forward to a new map, a unique game mode, and a fresh collection of cosmetic items. The update is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, June 24.

The update introduces Summit, a new map set in a hidden Radiant training academy nestled in the mountains of China. According to the game's lore, the location was once home to a monastery where Sage trained before joining the VALORANT Protocol.

Summit features a traditional three-lane layout with two bomb sites. The map's signature mechanic is a set of three controllable doors located at Site A, Site B, and Mid. Once activated, these doors permanently block key sightlines and rotation paths for the remainder of the round.

For the first two weeks following the map's release, players will lose 50% less Ranked Rating (RR) when defeated on Summit, while still receiving the full 100% RR for a victory. During the first seven days, a dedicated Swiftplay queue exclusively featuring Summit will also be available.

The new Retake mode focuses on fast-paced 3v3 engagements, similar to a popular mode in CS2. Each round begins with the Spike already planted on a site. One team immediately takes defensive positions, while the opposing side attempts to retake the site and defuse the Spike. Teams switch sides every round, and matches are played until one side secures five victories.

With the launch of Act 4, a new Battle Pass priced at 1,000 VP will become available. Its centerpiece is the Blackspyre skin collection, which combines science-fiction aesthetics with mystical elements. New cosmetic variants will be available for the Phantom, Sheriff, Spectre, Ares, as well as a new melee weapon called Divide.

As a reminder, GTA VI could become one of the most expensive games ever made, according to a recent leak revealing the prices of its editions.
