Riot Games have revealed key details about the upcoming spring split titled LEC Spring Primer 2026 in League of Legends. The competition will begin on March 28 and conclude on June 7.
The main announcement was that Monday matches during the regular season will no longer have a live audience in the studio.
The two best teams in the region will earn spots at the Mid-Season Invitational. The spring split champion will also secure a place at the League of Legends tournament within the Esports World Cup.
LEC Spring Primer 2026 format
Group Stage
- The stage will last seven weeks in a Single Round-Robin format (each team plays every other team once).
- Matches: all series will be played in a Best-of-3 format.
- Playoff qualification: the top six teams will advance to the next stage.
Playoffs
- The stage will begin on May 23.
- All matches will be played in a Best-of-5 format using a Double Elimination bracket.
Roadshow events
- April 24–26: at the Karmine Corp Arena in Évry-Courcouronnes, France. Invited teams: Shifters, Natus Vincere, and Fnatic.
- May 8–10: in Madrid, Spain, hosted by Movistar KOI.
As a reminder, a Top Esports player is currently under investigation over possible match-fixing in the LPL.
