Roblox increases developer payouts for attracting adult audiences

The Roblox platform has announced changes to its reward system. Developers will now earn significantly more for creating games aimed at adult players rather than children.

According to the company, its user base aged 18 to 34 in the United States has grown by more than 50% compared to last year. This audience also spends 50% more than younger players. To encourage developers to focus on this segment, Roblox is updating its financial terms, which will take effect on June 8.

The rate of the Developer Exchange (DevEx) program — which allows developers to convert in-game currency (Robux) into real money — will increase by 42%. This increase applies to revenue generated from age-verified users in the U.S. aged 18 and older.
