sAw: «I think right now we are on our peak, happy how we perform the whole event»

G2 head coach Eetu sAw Saha gave an interview to Players special correspondent Alex Kharchenko after winning the BLAST Open London 2025 in CS2.

The whole match was kind of scale, a great final, but it should be exhausting for you, what are your feelings?

Yeah, it was exhausting, for sure.  First map went pretty fast, but then fully turned around in the next two, and then OT on Inferno, and they had a matchpoint, so I mean, to turn it around, get it to OT after 12:11 for them, and then on Train just get it rolling again, it was exhausted and a bit of a rollercoaster in a way, so happy about the win, for sure.

But do you have any emotions left, like personally?

No, personally, I’m always kinda chill. You always think about what can happen and so on, but I try to keep it in the moment, basically, think about the rounds, think about things like that, training for sure. Happy that we won, and happy how we perform, like the whole event.

There were a lot of things, like crowd, emotions, some nerves. How stressed are you working on such a situation? Or are you just improvising how you talking to your players?

Yeah, I mean as a baseline you always make a game plan of some sort, and then either you can continue with it or you might need to adjust. And then of course individual skill comes into play always, so it's going to be twists and turns and you need to be ready to adjust in the moment as well. And then it's going to be about clutch situations, all sorts of small details, so I mean many things coming together will in the end get you the win. And I think this was also about small details.

So if we look at this specific game, five maps, so you think the individual moments drive you to the final game?

Yeah, I believe so. I think we had our plans, but it's also hard to prepare for five maps. I think similarity for them as well, so it's going to be individual moments, showing teamplay, showing individual skill. And let's see,  Train for example last map, how many clutches did HeavyGod have. Like fully carried us on the CT side and then MATYS on T side having multi kills left and right. So these moments of course will win you the match, or at least can win you the match.

How are you, are you like feeling that you're in a peak performance, or you're just adjusting?

I think at the moment it's hard to say that we would be, like we are peak level so far, but we are such a young team in the end that it's hard to say what's our overall peak. I do think we can still improve on many things and we still need to work hard basically because we are such a new team and we need to show consistency in the future. So then the next events are going to show how are we overall as a team and what's our consistency level compared to peak level for example. But we will see, I think still right now on our peak, but we can still improve.

What's next for G2 right now? So we will celebrate a bit, and then what's next for you guys?

I mean next is Fissure in Serbia and they're going to be traveling tomorrow and then on Tuesday we go to Serbia.

So no chance to relax?

No, there's no rest really. We can sleep on the plane a bit and then we go again.
