Scotland Aims to Grow Its Gaming Sector to Over £1 Billion by 2030

Scotland plans to expand its gaming ecosystem to more than £1 billion by 2030 as part of the Game Action Plan initiative. The Scottish Game Action Plan aims to transform the country into a “gaming supercluster” and a global leader in creative technologies.

The plan also предусматриває the creation of 20 new studios and 50 intellectual property (IP) assets through prototype funding by 2028. Implementation will follow a “phased, risk-minimised approach” to building a national games industry framework, leveraging existing public resources and infrastructure.

The first phase is a two-year pilot program focused on establishing a strong foundation and strategic cohesion. The second phase will concentrate on the creation of a National Games Innovation Centre — a physical hub that will serve as the heart of the gaming sector, a catalyst for international investment, and a lasting legacy for Scotland. Progression to the second phase will occur only if the first phase is successfully completed.

As a reminder, NIP earned over $14 million through its Bitcoin mining division.
