SEGA has outlined plans to unveil four major new titles based on its core franchises by the end of March 2027. The information comes from the company’s Q3 financial report, covering October to December 2025, and includes targets for the next fiscal year running from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027.
According to the report, SEGA intends «to release four major new titles for mainstay IPs». The company also plans to «maximize title potential through enhancement of ‘sales capabilities» while continuing to grow its transmedia business by expanding its game IP into film, television and books.
While no specific series were named, the phrase «major new titles for mainstay IPs» suggests that a high budget entry in the Sonic series could be part of this lineup.
SEGA recently released Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, and the only confirmed upcoming release date on its schedule is Virtua Fighter 5 REVO World Stage for Switch 2, launching on March 26. Announced titles without release dates include Persona 4 Revival, Stranger than Heaven, Total War: Warhammer 40,000 and Total War: Medieval 3.
The report also reconfirms that new games are in development for established IPs such as Virtua Fighter, Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, Jet Set Radio, Streets of Rage and Alien Isolation. It remains unclear how many of these projects qualify as «major new titles» or which will release before March 2027.
Finally, SEGA reiterated its commitment to expanding its transmedia strategy. Alongside The Angry Birds Movie 3 set for December 2026 and the live action Sonic the Hedgehog 4 arriving in March 2027, the company has film and TV projects in development based on Golden Axe, Shinobi, Streets of Rage, Eternal Champions, The House of the Dead and OutRun.
