Esports organization Sentinels has officially signed Brock “brawk” Somerhalder to compete in the 2027 VALORANT Champions Tour season. The announcement regarding the addition of the 2025 World Champion and Champions MVP took place on Tuesday, November 3. The organization published the official confirmation of the transfer on the X platform with a caption about "bringing out the big guns."
This move finalized the formation of the updated team roster for the VCT Americas league. The arrival of brawk to the initiator position occurred just one day after the signing of duelist Francis “OXY” Hoang, who previously played for Cloud9 for three years. The new players came in to replace Jerrwin “Jerrwin” Gill and Jonah “JonahP” Pulice, who left the organization at the end of October.
brawk's transition to Sentinels was preceded by a successful stage of his top-level career with NRG. In 2025, he helped the team win the World Championship in Paris, defeating Fnatic 3-2 in the grand final, and earned the tournament MVP title, becoming known for his Sova play and use of the Odin. In his farewell statement, the player explained his refusal to renew his contract with NRG by stating that he always makes decisions that allow him to contend for new trophies in the long term. In the 2026 season, his former team took third place at Masters Santiago, second at the Esports World Cup, and 5th-6th place at Champions Shanghai.
For Sentinels, signing the world champion became a key stage of the rebuild after a disappointing 2026 season. The team failed to qualify for Masters Santiago, Masters London, and Champions Shanghai, finishing 9th-10th at VCT Americas Kickoff and Stage 1, and also ending their Stage 2 run in the Play-Ins after a 2-0 loss to KRÜ Esports. Despite these results, Sentinels remained among the eight VCT Americas partner organizations for the 2027-2028 cycle.
The fully assembled Sentinels roster for 2027 looks like this:
- Brock “brawk” Somerhalder (signed from NRG)
- Francis “OXY” Hoang (signed from Cloud9)
- Mohamed Amine “johnqt” Ouarid (in-game leader)
- Yassin “Reduxx” Aboulalazm
- Gabriel “cortezia” Cortez
