Renowned Japanese game designer Keiichiro Toyama, best known for the iconic horror titles Silent Hill and Siren, is already developing a new project.
Toyama is the founder and head of Bokeh Game Studio. The studio’s debut game was the action horror title Slitterhead, released in late 2024. The project received mixed reactions. Players and critics praised the developer’s creativity, but the unusual storyline and combination of incompatible mechanics made the game difficult for a broader audience to understand.
Soon the gaming community will have a chance to determine whether this was simply a rare misstep by the horror veteran or if his future projects will also target a more niche audience.
Bokeh Game Studio announced on the HRMOS platform that the team is currently working on a major AAA project and is inviting new specialists to join the studio.
Toyama emphasized that the game is still in the early stages of development. The team is focused on experimentation in order to deliver something new and original for players.
The main goal is to establish a distinctive creative style so that games from Bokeh cannot be confused with projects from other developers. Team members will be given the opportunity to influence the overall vision of the game and contribute their own creativity.
The new game from Keiichiro Toyama is unlikely to be released before 2029.
