The The Strong National Museum of Play in New York has revealed the latest nominees for induction into the World Video Game Hall of Fame.
The following titles were nominated in 2025::
- Angry Birds
- Dragon Quest
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
- FIFA International Soccer
- Frogger
- Galaga
- League of Legends
- Mega Man
- PaRappa the Rapper
- RuneScape
- Silent Hill
- Tokimeki Memorial
Games are evaluated according to several criteria including cultural impact, significance for the industry, recognition and popularity among players. To be inducted, a title must be iconic, widely recognized, praised by both gamers and critics, and influential in shaping the video game industry and popular culture.
A special panel selects the finalists each year from thousands of potential candidates.
Modern blockbusters rarely appear among the nominees because it takes time to properly evaluate their long term influence. For that reason the newest game on the 2026 list is the legendary The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, originally released in 2011.
Fans can also take part in an online vote that runs until March 13. Player feedback will be considered when determining the four winners, which the jury will announce on May 7.
As of early 2026, the World Video Game Hall of Fame includes 49 inducted games.
As a Reminder, Silpo × NAVI collaboration won the prestigious EuroShop RetailDesign Award 2026.
