Solid Snake joins Rainbow Six Siege X

Ubisoft has unveiled the Year 11 roadmap for Rainbow Six Siege X. The developers promise more seasons new events a social hub and the arrival of iconic character Solid Snake as a playable operator. The first season launches on March 3 bringing revamped maps a 1v1 arcade mode and a major balance update.

The company also announced Operation Silent Hunt which will be part of the eleventh year of support for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege X.

As part of Silent Hunt a new operator Solid Snake from the legendary Metal Gear Solid series will be added to the game. In Rainbow Six Siege X he wields a suppressed pistol uses smoke grenades to confuse enemies and relies on a special gadget to track their positions.

In the announcement trailer Snake stealthily infiltrates an enemy base alongside another famous spy Sam Fisher from the Splinter Cell franchise. Fans of Metal Gear Solid will be pleased to hear that Snake is once again voiced by David Hayter whose voice appeared in nearly every entry in the series except the fifth installment.

Developers shared more gameplay details in a dedicated trailer.

Players will be able to test Solid Snake and other Silent Hunt additions on test servers starting February 17 with the full launch scheduled for March 3.

As a reminder, Ubisoft canceled six games amid major internal changes within the company.
