According to MP1st, Sony is working on a new Killzone project that is still in the very early stages of production. The game is reportedly being developed by an external studio with support from Guerrilla Games.
The project is said to be a remake or remaster of one of the previous entries. While it is unclear which game is being updated, the original Killzone, released for PlayStation 2 in 2004, is considered the most likely candidate. A full reboot of the series has also been discussed.
Sources claim that People Can Fly, the studio behind Bulletstorm and Outriders, may be involved in development. However, this collaboration has not been definitively confirmed.
The new Killzone is reportedly expected to become Guerrilla’s next major focus after Horizon Hunter’s Gathering. Given how early the project is, plans could still change. Horizon 3 is reportedly planned to follow the next Killzone game.
An official announcement is not expected anytime soon. If the report is accurate, this would mark the first new Killzone project since Killzone: Shadow Fall, which launched on PS4 in 2013.
As a Reminder, Exodus is being hailed as one of the most promising successors to Mass Effect.
