Star Wars Jedi 3 leak reveals story details and possible release window

The article was updated on March 29, 2026 with new information about in game choices and was originally published on March 28. While rumors should be treated cautiously, a new leak suggests that fans of Star Wars may see the third Jedi game arrive in late 2026, focusing on Cal Kestis and his struggle with the Dark Side.

When Respawn Entertainment revealed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order at E3 2018, expectations were unclear. Some compared it to God of War, while others mentioned Jedi Academy and The Force Unleashed. Over time, the series became one of the most successful in the Disney era, with Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor often compared to classics like Knights of the Old Republic and Jedi Outcast.

Jedi Survivor launched in April 2023 and was praised for improving gameplay and delivering a strong middle chapter, though technical issues affected it for months. Despite that, it sold over 600,000 copies in its first week, and Electronic Arts reported it exceeded expectations in 2023 and 2024.

According to the leak, the story continues directly after Survivor. Cal Kestis will raise his daughter alongside Kata while struggling with the Dark Side, a theme introduced late in the previous game. The narrative will center on finding inner peace, including a moment where Cal purifies a lightsaber crystal from red to white, though its owner remains unclear.

Gameplay may introduce a Double Blaster stance, expanding on a popular Survivor mechanic. Players are also expected to make choices throughout the campaign, similar to Ghost of Tsushima, though these decisions reportedly will not affect the ending.

The source describes these as “moral” choices, such as sparing or executing characters. It also claims that while the first game’s script was completed before development, Survivor’s story evolved during production. The third game is said to follow a similar process, which could impact narrative quality.

The leak points to May 4, 2026 as a possible announcement date. The release is tentatively planned for late 2026, but could shift to early 2027 due to Grand Theft Auto VI.

Development has been ongoing since 2023. Former director Stig Asmussen left that year, leaving the project to other Respawn veterans. While the final result remains uncertain, anticipation for the conclusion of Cal Kestis’ story continues to grow.
