Steam Deck Sells Out in the U.S. Within 24 Hours Despite a $300 Price Increase

The first shipment of Valve's Steam Deck OLED gaming handhelds to the United States in several months sold out completely within just 24 hours.

The rapid sellout occurred despite widespread backlash from users online following a sudden increase in the console's price. In some cases, the cost of the device rose by as much as $300.

The price hike has pushed the Steam Deck into a higher market segment. The top-tier model now costs more than the PS5 Pro and has moved much closer in price to its main competitors — the Asus ROG Ally X ($999.99) and the Lenovo Legion Go 2 ($1,349), significantly reducing the handheld's former pricing advantage.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Rainbow Six Siege national team was eliminated from the Esports Nations Cup 2026 qualification tournament.
