A themed festival dedicated to Tower Defense games is currently running on Steam until the evening of March 16. For those unfamiliar with the genre, Tower Defense is a subgenre of real time strategy games where players must stop waves of enemies by building and upgrading defensive structures or other means of protection.
As usual for Steam festivals, the event features a large number of games with significant discounts along with plenty of playable demos.
The Riftbreaker is available with a 67% discount for 198 UAH. It is an unusual entry in the genre that blends base defense with fast paced action gameplay. The game is dynamic, intense and quite chaotic in the best way. It recently received a major update adding a new biome, a new mode and online co-op support.
Bloons TD 6 can be purchased with a 60% discount for 87 UAH. This is the latest installment in the classic series that originally gained popularity during the era of flash games. Based on the gameplay footage, the new entry offers more of the same addictive formula fans already love.
The Kingdom Rush series is also featured with several discounted titles. Among the highlights are Kingdom Rush Origins with a 50% discount at 114 UAH and the original Kingdom Rush with a 50% discount at 84 UAH.
Super Fantasy Kingdom offers a different take on the genre. Instead of traditional towers the game uses individual units and places a stronger emphasis on economy management. It also includes roguelike elements. A nice bonus is the presence of a Ukrainian localization, although the game is still in early access.
The Orcs Must Die! franchise is also part of the sale. These games combine Tower Defense mechanics with a third or first person perspective and some entries support cooperative play.
Players looking for something more experimental may want to check out Creeper World 4 with a 60% discount for 206 UAH and Creeper World 2 with a 60% discount for 49 UAH. The series features a unique mechanic where players fight against a spreading liquid like enemy.
Another interesting discovery is There Are No Orcs. It offers a fresh take on the Tower Defense formula and can be surprisingly addictive thanks to its scale and gameplay depth.
Bad North presents a more tactical approach to the genre. Players must carefully position their units on a small battlefield while considering terrain advantages and unit strengths to defend settlements.
The classic GemCraft series is also part of the event. One of its most popular entries is GemCraft: Chasing Shadows.
Finally, Bish Bash Bots stands out as a fun cooperative experience with local multiplayer that works great for playing together with friends or family.
As a Reminder, Capcom is working on story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem.
