Firefly Studios has officially unveiled Stronghold 4, the next entry in its long-running historical strategy franchise.
The game serves as a prequel to the original Stronghold titles and once again takes players to medieval England. Meanwhile, the game features significantly upgraded graphics and a more realistic visual style.
Players will return to building massive castles, reinforcing them with powerful defenses, managing the needs of their population, and raising armies capable of protecting their lands from enemy threats.
Stronghold 4 will feature a story-driven campaign filled with memorable characters portrayed by well-known actors, including Ben Starr, Samantha Béart, Walles Hamonde, and Harry McEntire.
The story follows Penryn of Wethel, a humble shepherd who rises to become a courageous ruler and challenges some of the most powerful lords in the realm.
Stronghold 4 is set to launch in Steam Early Access before the end of 2026. A free playable demo will also be released on June 23.
