Following the release date reveal, the developers of Subnautica 2 have shared the PC system requirements for their upcoming ocean survival adventure. The studio also confirmed that KRAFTON remains a co-publisher of the project.
Shortly after announcing the early access launch, Unknown Worlds provided detailed technical specifications. The sequel will require more powerful hardware than the original game, which is expected due to improved graphics, higher detail, a larger world, and support for modern technologies.
The team emphasized that the listed requirements are based on performance without upscaling or frame generation, offering a more accurate picture of the game’s demands. Using such technologies can further improve visuals and performance.
Minimum requirements remain fairly accessible. Players will need a graphics card on the level of a GeForce GTX 1660, 12 GB of RAM, and about 30 GB of storage space, with no strict requirement for an SSD.
Since the game will launch in early access, the developers note that system requirements may change over time.
In Subnautica 2, players will travel to an entirely new planet on behalf of the Alterra corporation, where the mission quickly goes off track. They will face a dangerous journey and must do everything possible to survive in a vast океан.
The sequel retains the core elements of the original, focusing on exploration and base building with expanded modules and systems. This time, however, the game is designed with cooperative play in mind, supporting groups of two to four players.
Subnautica 2 will enter early access on May 14 at 17:00 CEST on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store, as well as on Xbox Series, including Game Pass.
