Nintendo has released its latest financial report, highlighting the enormous commercial success of the Switch console family.
According to the company, lifetime sales of the original Nintendo Switch have reached 155.7 million units. This makes it the best selling console in Nintendo’s history. The system has surpassed the Nintendo DS and is now second only to the all time industry record holder, the PlayStation 2.
Switch 2 is also showing remarkable momentum. Since June 2025, sales of the new console have climbed to 17.37 million units. It remains the fastest selling platform across most markets, with 7.01 million consoles sold during the final three months of 2025 alone.
Game sales continue to be strong as well. During the last quarter, 37.93 million Switch 2 games were sold. The top performing title was Mario Kart World, which reached 14.03 million copies sold.
