ake-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has once again confirmed the release date for Grand Theft Auto VI. While this is already the third confirmation, the game remains one of the most anticipated releases of the generation, so every update continues to attract huge attention.
GTA 6 was originally planned for 2025 before being delayed to May 2026 and later pushed back again to November 19, 2026. Back in April during the iicon event, Zelnick joked that many people would probably be “calling in sick” on launch day. Now he has once again reaffirmed the release date with even greater confidence.
During a conversation with David Senra, the head of Take-Two Interactive directly stated that he knows the exact release date of Grand Theft Auto VI — November 19.
Addressing the game’s delays, he said:
«I think we’re about 18 months behind the original date. Not much more than that»
Zelnick was also asked whether the Grand Theft Auto franchise is the most successful gaming IP ever created. According to him, the answer depends on how success is measured, but in terms of brand value, GTA is likely the most valuable entertainment IP in the world.

The Take-Two CEO also explained why Grand Theft Auto V continues to dominate years after release. He credited the game’s constant updates, strong social features, and replayability for its long-term success.
«The reason people keep playing is because it’s constantly updated and it’s really great»
For now, everything points toward GTA 6 launching on November 19, 2026. Still, delays are always possible in the gaming industry, so fans will only fully believe the date once the game is finally in players’ hands.
