Esports organization Team Liquid has announced a partnership with English football club Sunderland AFC.
Two Team Liquid players will represent Sunderland in the eighth season of the ePremier League featuring EA Sports FC, which kicks off on February 28, 2026.
The club will be represented by Paulo Neto and Gabriel Freitas. Both are decorated competitors: “Young” finished second at the Esports World Cup 2024, while Neto won the FIFAe Nations Cup 2023.
They will compete against representatives of the other 19 Premier League clubs for a share of the £100,000 prize pool and the opportunity to qualify for the eChampions League and the FC Pro World Championship.
For Team Liquid, this marks a strategic step in developing its EA Sports FC division. In May 2025, the organization acquired Team Gullit, along with its academy, strengthening its position in the football simulation scene.
Previously, Shyvana from League of Legends received a long-awaited update.
