Terraria has received the major 1.4.5.7 update on PC, which is set to be the final hotfix for the Bigger and Boulder update unless critical issues require another patch. The developers focused primarily on balance changes, gameplay adjustments, new content, and fixing a large number of bugs.
The update introduces more than 30 new items, including weapons and accessories. The developers have also completely reworked gem staves and gem robes. Each gem now gives gem staff projectiles a unique effect, while equipping the corresponding robe adds its own gem effect. The crafting cost of gem staves has also been reduced by roughly 30%.
Mana mechanics have received a major overhaul. The regeneration delay has been completely removed, allowing mana to regenerate even while attacking. Standing still now increases the full regeneration rate, while additional changes improve mana recovery when the player's mana is low. Dozens of weapons, accessories, enemies, bosses, and other mechanics have also been rebalanced.
The patch also brings several quality of life improvements. Players can now share equipment between loadouts, while gamepad navigation, the crafting interface, and multiplayer functionality have been improved. The developers have additionally addressed a huge number of bugs, including crashes, synchronization problems, world generation issues, and various gameplay glitches. Version 1.4.5.7 is currently available on PC. The console and mobile versions will follow once the necessary submission and certification processes are completed. The team decided to release the PC version first because Gamescom is taking place next week.
«At long last, we are pleased to announce that Terraria 1.4.5.7 is out now for PC!»
The next major step for Terraria is expected to be the long-awaited first phase of crossplay, which will arrive with version 1.4.6. Re-Logic and DR Studios will also hold joint planning sessions at Gamescom to determine the direction of future Terraria updates.
As a Reminder, POSTAL 2 Redux launches in spring 2027 with a major visual overhaul.
