PGL Astana 2026 is a tournament set to take place in May 2026, featuring a number of S-tier teams, and it will run in parallel with IEM Atlanta 2026. Four regional qualifiers were held for the event, and they have just concluded:
9z managed to win the South American qualifier, where they were essentially the only favorites, as none of their opponents were even ranked in the world’s top 50.
magic secured the European qualifier. This stage was heavily dominated by Russian teams, with 100 Thieves being one of the few notable exceptions. They had a chance to qualify but fell short in the match for a spot in the final.
The Huns claimed their slot with virtually no resistance, facing only three teams in their qualifier and defeating all of them without dropping a single map.
Fisher College won the North American qualifier, becoming something of a phenomenon. They are the first university team to qualify for an S-tier tournament.
Additionally, FUT withdrew from the tournament and were replaced by K27, who finished second in the European qualifier for PGL Astana 2026.
