Many fans may have forgotten, but the live action series based on Hitman had been in development for almost ten years. Now it has been confirmed that the project has officially been canceled.
The adaptation was originally announced in 2017, with Hulu and Fox 21 Television Studios working on the project. They brought in Derek Kolstad, the creator of the John Wick series, to develop the show. However, the project never moved forward into full production.
During an interview at the South by Southwest festival, Kolstad revealed that the adaptation was effectively canceled very early in development and never progressed beyond the pilot stage. According to him, the series is now dead in the water.
«No… It’s a little bit of a dagger in the chest. Who knows nowadays, but it’s dead in the water. But, man, I love that thing, because I love that game and I love that character. But the problem is, I can write a screenplay, but no one’s going to go out and buy the screenplay. You’ve got to make the movie, you’ve got to make the show. But nothing’s happening with that man, sadly», — said Kolstad.
The series was planned as a thriller inspired by Jason Bourne, focusing on a younger Agent 47 who was only beginning his career as an assassin and still had hair.
As a Reminder, Battlefield 1 Player Numbers Rise Again.
