It has been reported that the live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda by Nintendo is being filmed in the same locations used for The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Production is currently underway in the Otago region of New Zealand, particularly near the town of Glenorchy.
This suggests that the landscapes and scenic environments from the Zelda games will be portrayed using real-world locations rather than relying solely on CGI. Director Wes Ball aims to create a more “realistic” and “grounded” version of Hyrule.
The film’s worldwide premiere is scheduled for May 7, 2027. According to available information, the lead roles of Link and Zelda will be played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth and Bo Bragason.
Reminder: Evil Geniuses recently introduced the Gridlock tournament series for Minecraft.
